Each eye shadow has the option of a full sized jar ($5.00), a mini jar ($3.50) or a sample baggie ($1.00). You get a good amount in the samples and it keeps postage down, so that's what I usually order. As I've said before, baggie samples are not my favourite but it's no problem buying jars on this end to use!
Order: I've ordered a lot previously from Shiro and haven't got round to doing a full review like this. This time I ordered the full set of the Tributes Collection samples for $10.80. You get a 10% discount if you use the option to order the full set.
Shipping: To the UK - $1.75. My order was posted just over a week after I placed the order but it took nearly three weeks to get across the ocean (US mail is random, some stuff takes 4 days and other stuff can take 4 weeks).

What Did I Get? My samples arrived very neatly wrapped in a little parcel, along with a couple of sweets. Which I ate before I opened the eye shadows. Also included were two extra samples.

I do quite like the way the bags are sealed with the label, it's quite a nice touch! The labels have all the information you need on them such as the name, ingredients and if it's lip safe or not. The labels peel off easily, without ripping which is a bonus for me. I stick the labels onto the jars so it always helps that they're the right size for that!

Quite possibly one of the best collections I've seen an Indie Brand put out. Each colour ties in perfectly to the inspiration. From the delicate pink of Wildflowers to the deep blue tones of the berries in Rebellion. This collection has very carefully been plotted and created. It also helps that shadows from Shiro Cosmetics are of a very high standard. They're soft, pigmented and some of the easiest indie shades I have to apply (some indie shadows can be a little too floaty). These will last all day on me and really show their awesome shimmers and sparkles over Pixie Epoxy!
Will I order Again? - Absolutely!!
I love how Shiro's shades can be lighter-colored without feeling like they're nearly insubstantial...or prettily-colored silkdust. I have absolutely no idea how to create loose-powder makeup, other than "there are pigments and mica involved" and "use something to help with adhesion;" but Shiro's colors always apply well and stay in place. I'm trying to think if I've ever had a problem with any of Shiro's shadows fading, and I can't think of any.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! Baker's Boy and Wildflowers are so light and delicate looking yet they still pack brilliant pigmentation. I don't know how she does it!
DeleteI just ordered some samples from this collection but missed Star Crossed, Rebellion and Beyond the Fence. Adding those to my list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful swatches!!
I was surprised at just how much I liked Beyond The Fence, it's not too eye catching in the bag. Hope you love your samples!
