Review: Look Beauty Mattify Me Powder

I am always on the look out for better oil control. My skin has been turning into an oily mess over the last few years so I'm exploring shine control primers and powders.

Look Beauty Mattify Me Powder is available from Superdrug and LookBeauty.co.uk for £8. You get 8.6g of product. I think the packaging of this is its major let down. The plastic case is nice and sturdy, with a generous sized mirror. However, the case in only held closed by a magnet and no clip. There's nothing stopping this from being opened in your bag, resulting in a lovely powdery mess. Sure, it makes the case look sleek but it has no practical use for carrying around. Which is what I kind of need to do with a mattifying powder.

This is labelled as Translucent on the back but as far as I can tell, this is the only shade available. It vanishes on my skin but I suspect it would look chalky on some deeper skin tones.

I have used this quite a bit now and I find that it does help control shine for about 3 hours. Fine for when I'm at home but when I'm out and about I need to use another method of shine control, usually another powder or those blotting sheets.
