My Mum swore by this top and base coat duo for ages before I finally listened to her an tried it out. I spotted the duo in Boots recently for around £8. It's also available from QVC in slightly larger bottles for just under £15. The bottles from QVC are 10ml, the bottles from Boots are 8ml.
The base coat looks opaque in the bottle but I only apply one coat to my nails and it only adds a very slight pink tone to my nails. As my nail beds are pretty much white (hello constant anaemia!) this can add a more healthy look to my nails, even when I'm not planning on wearing polish. The slight pinkish tone is not usually an issue, unless I'm wearing quite a sheer blue toned colour. It can just add some colour to the sheer polish.
The top coat is pretty awesome, it leaves your polish touch dry in 45 seconds and adds a whole load of shine! I much prefer this top coat to Seche Vite as I don't get any shrinkage with the Nails Inc duo. Also, I haven't had the same issues with the top coat turning thick and gloopy in the way that Seche Vite does after it has been open a couple of months.
I'm planning on keeping this on hand all the time! It's so useful for when I'm in the mood to do my nails.
Looks very nice becky !
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the base coat does nothing for me, my nails have been peeling for ages and this hasn't helped at all. And I'm now finding it very hard to get much polish out of the bottle despite it still being about 1/3 full because the brush is so short. :( The top coat is nice, but to me this is not as great as it would like to think it is.
ReplyDeleteI just saw these on Sephora the other day and was wondering about them. Thanks for the review, I'll definitely check them out! :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me whether it helps the coloured polish that you use last longer? Mine chip on the second day without fail which gets on my nerves....
