Mascara: Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara

I think this is the first high-end mascara review I've done on here. I usually stick to drugstore brands as I am going through a lot of mascara for my review series. However, when I was offered the Clinique Lash Doubling mascara to review I couldn't say no!

Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara is sold at beauty21.co.uk for a discounted price of £11.99. As far as I can see, it's only available in black.

Packaging is sleek and silver. Looks nice and expensive.

The wand is interesting. It's the "traditional" sort, rather than the flexible rubber sort. It's very tapered with very tightly packed bristles arranged in a spiral. These tightly packed bristles do a very good job of grabbing and coating your lashes without clumping. It seems to comb through your lashes as you apply. The taperered shape is pretty useful as well as it makes applying to the corners quite easy. I use the very narrow end to apply to the smaller hairs at my inner corner and lower lashline.

The formula is spot on. It's not so runny that you end up with loads on the brush, it's not so thick that you end up with clumps.

No mascara.

I really like the effect this mascara gives. I don't get a massive amount of volumising, but I wasn't expecting that as it's supposed to double the length & thickness of your lashes. Does it do that? I think so. It has become one of my regular day time mascaras as it gives a really good boost to your lashes. It almost looks natural as well. I noticed a slight glossiness to my lashes after application, which adds to this more natural effect. It holds my curl really well, it lasted most of the day. I didn't notice any flaking or smearing throughout the day. It removed easily enough with my MAC Cleansing Oil.

I'm pretty impressed. Maybe I'll review more high-end mascaras in the future.

This mascara was provided free for review from beauty21.co.uk. This has had no effect on the review I've given.

It is available at Clinique counters for a higher price.

  1. It doesn't look hugely volumising, but it gives a nice, long and fluttery effect! Very nice :)
