This is available from The Body Shop for about £10.00 and it comes in three colours (black, brown and blue), I'm reviewing the black one.

This is one of the products that I received in my Body Shop goodie bag last year. I actually quite like how the Body Shop mascaras are packaged. They all have the silver cap and each type of mascara has a different coloured tube. It makes it obvious in my pot which tubes are the Body Shop ones.
The brush is one of the "traditional" type. That means it has the stiff bristles rather than the rubber wand. I don't have a preference to be honest, my favourite mascara has the stiff type of wand but I love others that have the flexible wand. The bristles are arranged in a spiral on the wand. The wand tapers at the tip to allow you to reach the smaller lashes at the corners. I don't get why companies are making massive wands so you can reach the corners, they never work like that for me.

This is a very black mascara, very pigmented. It's also very thick and wet. It took quite a long time to dry so I kept managing to smudge it all over. The thickness meant that when I attempted to build up the volume, I just ended up with sticky lashes. I combed them out but they managed to stick together again. It does volumise quite nicely in one coat, but one coat is not enough for me! I wanted more volume and got stuck together lashes.
Overall, not the best mascara I've found but certainly not the worst (Revlon DoubleTwist, I'm looking at you!).
This mascara made its way to me in an event goodie bag. This has no effect on the review I give.

ReplyDeleteYou hated Revlon Double Twist too? It was TERRIBLE :D I used it like 3 times and that was enough. Really!

@Nea - it was utterly crap! I've got it sat here, waiting to review and it's just bloody awful.
