In the bottle, it's an incredible deep purple shimmer with a black base and some goldish coloured flakes. On the nails, it does lose some of the depth and the black base of the polish is most evident. It's not completely black on me though, even though this has been one of the most common complaints. Even in the rather dull lighting I have here, I can still see a touch of the shimmer. The flakes only show under brighter light though.
I hate the thin, round brushes MAC uses for their polish. Even though my nail beds are small, it takes several sweeps to cover them with the tiny brush. The brush in this polish is very stiff which hasn't helped matters. This polish is quite thick when compared to my only other MAC polish so it seems there is no consistency to their formula (but then 2 OPIs are never the same!).
This is 2 coats which was perfectly opaque. My very white nail edges do not show through.

Very pretty colour, I love it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying my best not to cave and pick up Baby Girl Goth but each time I see it I want it more. I think it's absolutely gorgeous!

I love this but I warn you it is a nightmare to remove as the flakes just seem to stick to the nail! Two nail polishes later and I still have a couple of bits stuck on that refuse to shift!
ReplyDelete@Sophie - Thanks :)
ReplyDelete@LionLovingTiger - It's so pretty! I'd get it soon if you wanted it, it'll be gone soon.
@jobetterdays - I'd heard that, oh well!
Hey Becky,
ReplyDeleteIt's true, it looks less black on your nails... Lucky you! ;-)
