Today I will be doing a little review on some brushes I found at a natural beauty shop in Lincoln. The brand is Mineral Fusion, not one I've come across before. Now, I've been on the hunt for a crease brush for quite a while now. The MAC #217 is just too wide for me. It's great at what it does, but it's not my perfect crease brush. Likewise with the MAC #219 and #224. I saw a table at this shop that had some half price cosmetics, and these brushes were in a pot at the back. To be honest, if they had been full price I wouldn't have bothered picking either of them up. As it happened, they were half price.
I picked out these two:

That's the Crease brush at the top and a wide eye shadow brush at the bottom, which they have called the Eye Base brush. The Crease brush was marked down to £7, and the Eye Base brush was just under £6.
So, first impressions. The heads are very soft, but densely packed. The Crease brush is made from squirrel hair and the Eye Base brush is made from pony hair. As expected, the Eye Base brush has a stiffer feel than the Crease brush. It's marked on the website that the animals used are not killed to make the brushes.
I always wash my brushes before use and neither of these brushes shed a single hair. No hairs are bent out of shape and they dried just as soft as they were before. The Crease brush has been washed 5 times at this point and still has not lost any hair. The Eye Base brush has been washed twice and hasn't lost any hairs.

Here, you can see the shape of the heads. The point to the Crease brush allows a precise application, whereas the shape of the Eye Base brush packs on a great wash of colour over the whole lid.
I've used the Crease brush nearly every day since I got it and I am hugely impressed. It packs on the colour exactly where I want it. Other crease brushes have been either too thick or too thin but this one is the perfect size. The softness to the brush allows blending but as the brush is so dense, this softness does not prevent it from depositing the eye shadow. I think this is fast becomming a staple for my every day eye shadow application.
The Eye Base brush is great for a colour wash over the lid, or adding and blending a highlight. I don't consider it as much of a must have brush but it's great for the days when I can't be bothered with a full eye look and just want a quick wash. I've also tried it as a highlighter brush which it works really well for. It blends the highlight in with the crease very easily without "over blending" the colours away.
Nice Review. They look so great. I want them too! :)
